Here is an opportunity to be involved in the alpaca business without the large financial commitment ~ a test drive, if you will, for those of you considering the alpaca lifestyle.
All leases are for a period of 12 months and include the following:
- Your choice of any one of our high quality fiber males. One year fleece clip - that’s right, come be a part of shearing day and experience first hand what is involved in shearing of the alpacas. You get the hands on experience of shearing day and you keep the fleece of your leased alpaca. Not sure what to do with the fleece? We can help. Maybe you would like to have it hand spun into a beautiful yarn by a local spinner, or made into your very own rug, or perhaps have it entered in a fleece show. The choice is yours.

Farm visits are welcome. Come spend as much time as you would like with your alpaca during farm visiting hours. Reduce the stress of everyday life by spending some quality time with your alpaca. A little hand feeding or just a sit in the pen and you will feel the weight of the world lift from your shoulders.

As a member of East Coast Alpacas' Alpaca Lease Program, you will be entitled to a 10% discount on any East Coast Alpacas sponsored clinics or seminars offered during the course of your lease.

As an added bonus, should you decide the alpaca life style is right for you, we will apply the full cost of your lease toward the purchase of any alpaca from East Coast Alpacas (some restrictions apply).
With your alpaca lease from East Coast Alpacas you become a member of the East Coast Alpaca
family. You will have the opportunity during your visits to see what goes on day to day at the farm, from daily chores of feeding and cleaning to health evaluations and immunizations. There is never a shortage of things to do and learn.
The East Coast Alpacas Lease an Alpaca Program was born from the belief that one should have the opportunity to experience first hand the commitment and responsibility that goes along with owning what is considered to be the world’s finest livestock investment. It is our belief that only personal, hands on experience can fully prepare a potential new owner for what they can expect from their experience. Nothing can be more detrimental to the advancement of the alpaca industry than a new owner with a false sense of expectations. The alpaca industry is not for everyone, and this is best known prior to making a large financial commitment.
Currently the Alpaca Lease Program is running at $995.00 per alpaca, with payment plans available.
